Classic, tasty, crunchy, dark green 'romaine lettuce' with firm inner hearts from Thompson & Morgan. Also thrives in hot weather. Mainly used in Caesar salads. Regular sowing ensures spring and summer harvests.
Non hybrid
Not frost resistant
The seeds can be sown outdoors from February to August. To ensure optimum growth, the seeds for "Lattuga Bionda" lettuce require a moist and nutrient-rich environment. The seeds should be sown in a row about 30 centimetres apart and only lightly covered with soil. They can be harvested from May to October, around 75 days after sowing. At colder temperatures, a longer germination period must be assumed. In a greenhouse, cultivation is of course possible all year round. This Romaine lettuce can also be harvested as plucking lettuce by cutting off only the outer leaves over a few weeks. Or dig up the plant complete with roots and remove the soil from the roots, which keeps the leaves fresh for a longer period of time.
