Florence' lettuce is the perfect variety for outdoor cultivation in spring and summer. 'Florence' quickly forms large heads with a fresh green color, which are very tender and can be harvested as early as May. The plants are resistant to downy mildew and the green lettuce aphid.
Non hybrid
The seeds are sown from February to April either as a pre-culture or from April to July directly in the open ground. In the case of pre-cultivation, the young plants are planted in a frost-free garden bed around mid-May. Germination takes 7-14 days at 10-15°C. The plants prefer a sunny to semi-shady location and a nutrient-rich, loose soil. They should not be planted too deep in the soil to avoid lettuce rot. Cultivation period: 12-14 weeks.
