Related to the ribwort plantain. Cultivated in gardens since the 16th century. Wintergreen, very decorative leaves, the shape of which resemble deer antlers. Rosette-shaped lettuce plant, 20-30 cm high. Slow initial development, later vigorous and very healthy with very high yields. Multiple cutting possible, very frost hardy, perennial. Planting recommended. Well suited as a supplement to baby leaf mixtures. Spicy, pleasantly acidic, slightly salty taste.
Non hybrid
Frostproof
Staghorn lettuce can be cultivated in beds, pots, balcony boxes or tubs. Keep evenly moist during the germination period! Germination at a temperature of 12 to 18 °C after about 8 to 14 days. Enjoy young leaves as salad, older ones as spinach. So that new leaves can form continuously, do not harvest the inner leaves (heart).
