Unlike the normal spit onion, shallots form several smaller daughter onions from a plug onion. They are somewhat milder and yet spicy. 'Golden Gourmet' has an elliptical shape. The skin is bronze in color and is characterized by good firmness. The taste is very mild. The Golden Gourmet has a very long shelf life when stored in a dry, cool place.
