'Rolein' is a red, platy round edible onion with white, red-edged flesh and milder in flavor than many yellow onions.
Non hybrid
Frostproof
To avoid diseases, you should cultivate onions annually in a new location. Before the onset of cold days, you should pile the rows and protect them from bare frosts with a brushwood cover. You can harvest the onions as soon as the foliage folds over and turns yellow on its own. After harvesting, you should leave them on the bed for a few days to dry or hang dry.
