Apache chili is a strongly branched and bushy growing plant. It rarely grows taller than 45 cm, so it is ideal as a container plant for the balcony or windowsill, In addition, it is quite undemanding for a chili (it needs comparatively little light). The fruits ripen from green to red, are about 5 cm long and reward with a very high yield if well cared for. The small leaves and the multitude of small fruits make it a decorative houseplant. Species Capsicum annuum Heat level 6 Scoville 5.000 - 10.000 SHU optimal germination temperature 22 - 28°C sowing Jan. - Apr. flowers white (May- Aug.) growth habit bushy, 40 - 50 cm height ripening from green to red fruit appearance 1,5 x 5 cm Ripening time 90 days Origin unknown
Non hybrid
Not frost resistant
Care: The germination temperature is between 22 and 28°C (8 - 20 days germination period), so it is recommended to use a greenhouse and a heating mat. The plants need a fresh, well fertilized well-drained soil and do not tolerate waterlogging. They should be in a full sun, sheltered spot with at least 6 hours of sunlight, preferably more. Place the plants outside about 2 to 3 weeks after the last frost.
