'Thunder Mountain Longhorn' originates from a region in China where the so-called "Thunder Mountains" are located, hence the name. The bright red, slender, thin-walled fruits reach lengths of up to 30 cm or more. They have a medium pungency, are aromatic with a fruity-sweet note. The plants can grow 150 cm tall and develop a tree-like crown from which hang countless of the extremely long pods. They are suitable for fresh consumption, for cooking, for example, for omelettes, or in hot summers they are left to dry on the bush and processed into powder.
