Stubble turnip requires only a few weeks from sowing to harvesting and can be grown in spring (turnip) as well as in summer (autumn turnip). The turnip is flat, white-purple colored and has a pleasant pungency and tastes good raw or in stews. In the Wildschönau in Tyrol, Krautinger is distilled from it.
