Rosemary is a perennial, non-hardy shrub with high heat requirements from the labiates family. It grows particularly well in well-drained, rather dry and humusy soil and can reach heights of 30 to 120 cm. Its flowering period extends from May to June and it can be harvested throughout the year. The brown fruits are also usable.

Rosemary plants can be propagated by direct seeding, seedlings or as cuttings from older plants. You can harvest small branches in one piece. Rosemary is not frost-hardy and must therefore be kept indoors in a cool (5-10°C) and bright place for the winter. You can remove withering branches and use them in the kitchen. By pruning in late winter, you can ensure bushier growth.
