Very productive variety from the breeding of De Bolster, well suited for the fresh market. Stable, short plant type. Slender, green, well filled (5 grains) pods. Somewhat later, solid variety. Classic use of the green, milk ripe beans. Suitable for freezing. Pod length: about 15 cm. Height of growth: about 100 cm.
Non hybrid
Frostproof
Broad beans do very well in cool, moist locations and can tolerate slightly sub-zero temperatures. If temperatures are too high, broad beans will not set pods and become susceptible to pests. The earlier broad beans are sown, the lower the risk of black bean aphid infestation.
