Masterpiece is a very popular, classic and high-yielding green broad bean from England. It forms long, green pods, each containing up to seven beans. The plants are extremely robust and can cope with almost all weather conditions. This makes them ideal for harsh conditions. Freezing and preserving is no problem with this variety. Very tasty as a salad or blanched bean vegetables.
Non hybrid
Frostproof
Broad beans cope well with cooler temperatures. Soak the seeds in water for a day before sowing. Germination in 7-15 days at 8-15°C. Then sow the seeds in rows 50-80 cm apart, 4-6 cm deep and 10-20 cm apart. They need a good, nutrient-rich soil in a sunny position. Do not use fresh fertilizer when growing to avoid too large a harvest with only green leaves.
