Old broad bean/horse bean. Reaches a height of about 1 m and is considered to be tasty. Pod upright, 8-15 cm long, 4-6 seeds; white-black spotted flowers. Can be eaten cooked young with the pod, later only the seeds can be eaten fresh or dried. Particularly suitable for balconies or terraces due to its beautiful flowers and narrow, limited growth. Origin: Germany (Ebstorf) Mentioned in 1943 in the variety description of approved field bean varieties (23) by the Reichsnährstand Reichsbauernführer; country variety from the Lüneburg Heath.
