Chives Polyvert Allium schoenoprasum Perennial. This well-known and popular kitchen spice has particularly coarse-rooted foliage. Chives have an appetizing and blood-forming effect, are rich in vitamins and minerals. Its shelf life is prolonged by freezing or by pickling in salt. It is taken raw for cottage cheese, egg dishes, salads, sauces and to tomato grills.
