Description

'Canton White' is a robust and tasty variety that is suitable for propagation. The variety is characterized by a compact dwarf habit that produces short, broad, thick, pure white leaf stalks and dark green, glossy, slightly savoy cabbage leaves. Good heat tolerance when sown from late spring. This fast-growing vegetable can be harvested at any stage of growth to eat as a "baby leaf" or to mature into thick, juicy white stalks. It is a non-heading variety that produces 8 to 12 crisp white stalks with large, almost round, smooth green leaves. Dense planting and a high yield can be achieved. Seedlings picked as they grow in the thinning plants are also good for cooking. Also good for stir-fries and soups.
