A diverse mix of beetroot varieties. Varieties included: Rote Kugel 2, Golden Eye, Chioggia and Albina Vereduna. In this country, yellow and bi-colored beets are still unusual. In America and Italy they are real kitchen treasures. The juicy balls taste excellent and are particularly attractive when served as a salad. The beet varieties can be recognized in the bed by their beet and leaf stem colouring. This enables targeted harvesting according to individual varieties. Ensure good water and potash supply.
Non hybrid
Not frost resistant
Germination temperature 15-20 °C, germination period 15-25 days. Beet can be sown outdoors from mid-April in a sunny location in deep, humus-rich and nutrient-rich soil with a pH value that is not too low (6.8 to 7.5). An even earlier sowing date can lead to the plants shooting later if the temperature drops again. The seeds are sown in 2 to 3 cm deep grooves with 25 to 30 cm row spacing. They naturally form polygamous (multi-seeded) clusters. Several seedlings therefore emerge from each seed.
