This old variety produces lush and glossy leaves and flat-round roots with a diameter of 10 cm and smooth skin. Its dark red, red-ringed flesh offers a firm texture. It is a deliciously sweet, early and productive summer turnip variety. The very sweet, tender leaves can be harvested after just 35 days and used in salads. Harvest the excellent tasting beets after approx. 60 days when young, larger ones after 3-4 months.
Non hybrid
Not frost resistant
Can be grown on almost any soil. Germination in 7-21 days at 16-22°C. Seedlings (from leaf length approx. 5cm) should be spaced 10-15cm apart (depending on the desired beet size). This variety tolerates drought and heat. Water regularly. Cultivation recommendation: Sow every 2 to 3 weeks to delay the harvest.
