'Vereduna Alba' or 'Albina Vereduna' is a white-fleshed, original variety with a sweet, spicy flavor. The leaves can be eaten cooked, like spinach. This variety also has a good shelf life after the leaves have wilted and the lack of betanin, a coloring agent, means that hands and kitchen remain clean.
Non hybrid
Not frost resistant
Germination: After approx. 8-10 days. Sensitive to night frosts. From 8 °C, optimum germination temperature around 16-22 °C. Hoe and mulch regularly, water sufficiently during tuber formation. Medium feeder, avoid over-fertilization. Development time approx. 120-150 days, baby beets (baby tubers) at least 70 days. Variety for summer and fall harvest (sow in mid-July for storage). Tip: Co-planting with dill repels aphids and promotes germination.
