Golden Eye forms juicy, yellow balls that taste pleasantly fruity, mildly earthy and sweeter than beet. Their golden-yellow color is a feast for the eyes and does not stain too much. The beets are uniformly shaped, highly round and smooth-skinned.
Non hybrid
Not frost resistant
Beet germinate after about 12-20 days at 10-20°C. Sensitive to night frosts. Water regularly. Medium grower, avoid overfertilization. If necessary, separate to 10cm distance in the row to ensure better development. Harvest about 3-4 months after sowing. Baby beds already after 5-6 weeks. Storage well possible in cool, frost-proof cellar. Best sowing for storage fruits May/June. Tip: Nitrate content is reduced if beets are lifted with a digging fork in the morning without tearing all roots and harvested at noon.
