Root with mild flavor. Skin white, collar purple. Very productive storage vegetable. Beets can be made into "sour beets" like sauerkraut. The tender leaves can be used as stalk mush.

Sowing from mid-July to mid-August in rows 30cm apart. Later plantlets thin out to 15-20cm. Radishes are well suited as a subsequent crop of early vegetables. Harvesting takes place in September to November.
