Description

Iva's Sweet White is the name of this sugar-sweet cherry tomato from Slovenia. The pole tomato was bred by Iva Graša and produces light yellow nashtomatoes. It has not yet been possible to find out whether it is a new variety or a seed-resistant variant of 'Sweet Gold'. Each vine grows 8 to 10 tomatoes. It takes around 55 days from fertilization to harvest maturity. The fruits are 2.5 to 3.5 cm/1-1.4 in in size, weigh up to 25 g and are spherical to round-oval. Originally, the variety was described as very burst-resistant. In the last two years, however, the fruits have burst easily, perhaps due to the extreme weather conditions. The plant produces very little foliage and should therefore definitely be grown on multiple shoots. This way you get the maximum yield from these little "sugar bombs". Amazing yield, very early ripening variety. Almost all fruits are seedless. Tolerant to late blight and blossom end rot. Long harvest time.

Non hybrid

Not frost resistant

Growing tips

It is robust, only slightly susceptible to disease and fruits reliably even in cooler temperatures. The variety is suitable for greenhouses and the open field. The plants also do well in larger containers with sufficient soil volume. In any case, a full sun location is recommended, as the fruits need a lot of sun to store plenty of sugar. The plants are very vigorous, so if you plan plenty of space, you can easily grow 3 to 5 stems. Pinching out is important. Height over 2 m/2.2 yd. Ripening time: medium-early (70 days). Further growing tips for the species Cocktail pole tomato.
