Medium-early, non-furry variety with particularly large, bright red, round tubers with white, tender flesh. For year-round outdoor cultivation. Pleasant spicy taste. Suitable for fresh consumption, salad making and decoration. From Quedlinburger.
Non hybrid
Not frost resistant
Germination after 6-12 days at 8-15°C. Sowing 0.5-1 cm deep. Press seed, cover with soil and keep moist. Because of the size, separate to 5 cm from the end of April - beginning of August. Likes sunny location and any humus-rich garden soil. Keep evenly moist. Foil covering is favorable for early sowings. Drought, too deep sowing and heavy soil produce elongated tubers. Drought, heat, and shallow stand will result in bolting. In summer, rather a semi-shaded cultivation.
