This Super-Mini eggplant has small fruits, but a high and early yield. The shiny, dark purple fruits are not edible raw, so they can be grilled, roasted, braised or steamed. Eggplants offer an infinite number of delicious and varied preparation options. The mild flesh of the Super-Mini eggplant harmonizes with almost any other ingredient. Its attractive purple-red foliage is a real eye-catcher on terraces and balconies. The eggplant originates from tropical India and China and therefore likes it warm.
F1 Hybrid
Not frost resistant
Make sure you give it a sunny spot and fertilize and water it sufficiently so that it produces plump fruit. The heat-loving Super-Mini eggplant can be grown on sticks or pruned at around 40 cm, which makes it bushier and eliminates the need to tie it up. As it needs a lot of nutrients, it should be fed regularly with natural fertilizers. Like the tomato, the Super-Mini eggplant does not want to be watered from above, but only from below. When the fruit is ripe, the sepals are light green and unbrowned. The eggplants appear plump and the skin yields only slightly to pressure. However, if the fruit feels soft and the skin can be easily pressed in, it is overripe. Cut off the fruit above the calyx with a sharp knife or secateurs. They are quite firm on the plant. Eggplants can be stored in a cool, damp place for up to 2 weeks.
