Growing tips

Strawberry varieties grown outdoors do not require special protection during the winter. However, strawberries kept as potted plants, must be provided with winter protection in time and moved to a sheltered place. In case of permafrost, bring them indoors for safety. In the fall, you should cut back the plants. In early May, a layer of straw should be added to the soil. This will protect garden strawberries from moisture and an infestation of gray mold. Once the strawberries have been harvested, the straw can be removed. After that, the strawberries are fertilized.
