The variety Vekan is counted among the "purple stripe" and hardnecks. From the Czech Republic. Up to about 200 brood bulbs are formed. Mostly purple to white-brown, rather smaller bulbs and toes. Intense flavor. (From Landschaftenschmecken.com).
Non hybrid
Frostproof
It is best to stick the toes until November, then they take the strength over the winter to sprout in the spring. Spring staking is also possible. Garlic must be divided into individual cloves before planting. These are then placed individually in the soil with the tip facing up. Harvesting can begin when the leaf tips dry, change color and bend downward. Hang in an airy place to dry out.
