'Tomatillo Purple' is originally from Mexico and Central America. The fruit of the Tomatillo is packed in lampion-shaped, parchment-like bracts. These fruits ripen from green to purple. They grow to a size of 3 - 5 cm. The taste is an exotic combination of sweet and sour.
