Sow from March in pots / trays (filled with sowing soil). Before sowing, water pots/soil thoroughly, then lay seeds flat (light germination!), press down lightly and keep moist. From mid-May (frost-free) sow seeds directly in the open in rows (spacing 25 cm). Plant seedlings from previous cultivation at a growth height of approx. 5 cm from mid-May at a distance of 25 x 25 cm. Likes sunny-warm locations and well-drained, humus-rich garden soil. Temperature preferably above 18 °C. Can also be cultivated year-round in a pot, with additional light if necessary. Young shoots and leaves can be harvested continuously until flowering. For preservation, soak in oil or hang shoots in an airy place to dry.
