The strawberry rhubarb / raspberry rhubarb 'Frambozen Rood' is a new rhubarb variety from the Netherlands. 'Frambozen Rood' is the Dutch name for "raspberry red". The name refers to the long, red stalks of the rhubarb, as well as the delicious strawberry and raspberry scent. The red-stemmed variety has green flesh and a fruity taste. Rheum rhabarbarum 'Frambozen Rood' has broad stems. The skin can also be used for young plants. The plant grows bushy and compact. It grows to a maximum height of 80 centimeters. The stalks grow up to 40 centimeters long. Rhubarb is a vegetable. It originates from Siberia and can be found in the wild in China and Burma. The plant belongs to the knotweed family and is related to sorrel The perennial develops very well in a sunny to semi-shady location. The ideal soil is well-drained, rich in nutrients and sufficiently moist. Rhubarb does not tolerate waterlogging. The best location for this deciduous plant is near a compost heap in the garden. The perennial can live for up to ten years. It needs about one square meter of space.
