1ST YEAR
FOLLOWING YEARS
Very easy cultivation. Red-stemmed, large. Sowing in spring or autumn. Perennial. Germination after 6-10 days at 10-15 °C.
Non hybrid
Frostproof
Place seeds in planters with nutrient-rich seeding soil or expanding tablets and cover slightly with soil. Keep moist. Prick out after germination. Fall sowing possible in September. Rhubarb needs a lot of nutrients therefore like to fertilize with compost and water regularly, avoid waterlogging. Rhubarb requires some patience, success sometimes takes a while, but it's worth it! Harvesting is done from the 2nd year. Turn rhubarb out of the ground (do not cut, otherwise rot will form). Do not cut all the stalks first, but leave some on the plant. June 24 traditionally ends the harvest season - the rest of the year the plant needs to recover.
