F1 hybrid. Golden yellow, elongated fruits. Delicate, fruity to mildly aromatic flavor. Bushy growth, non-climbing and high yielding. Suitable for outdoor, cold frame & greenhouse. Resistant to powdery mildew. Germination after 8-14 days at 18-22°C. Do not eat bitter tasting fruits!
F1 Hybrid
Not frost resistant
Harvest fruits young at 20-25 cm in length. Older fruits lose flavor. Cool temperatures at flowering time can cause rot and little fruit set. However, plants recover as soon as it gets warmer. Roots are sensitive to injury and drying out. Therefore, growing in pots (1-2 seeds per pot) and planting out with root balls is recommended. Do not prick out! Harden off before planting out. Likes warm, wind-protected locations. Sensitive to frost. Several plants pollinate each other. Harvest regularly so that new fruits form continuously. Fertilize and water regularly. Follow crop rotation. Home-grown seeds are strongly discouraged for zucchini because the toxic bitter substance cucurbitacin can form. Mixed cultivation with borage promotes pollination. Pumpkins and zucchinis of the same species can interbreed, zucchini can become bitter and inedible or poisonous (due to so-called curcurbitacins).
