Description

Robust with narrow, shiny dark green, ribbed fruits. Non-climbing. From Croatia. Germination after 7-10 days 18-24°C.

Growing tips

2-3 seeds when preplanting, put out only the strongest plant. Harden off before planting. Likes warm, wind-protected locations. Sensitive to frost. Several plants pollinate each other. Harvest regularly so that new fruits are formed continuously. Fertilize and water regularly. Follow crop rotation. Home-grown seeds are strongly discouraged for zucchini because the toxic bitter substance cucurbitacin can form. Mixed cultivation with borage promotes pollination. Pumpkins and zucchinis of the same species can interbreed, zucchini can become bitter and inedible or poisonous (due to so-called curcurbitacins).
