Cylindrical, glossy dark green marbled fruit. Aromatic flavor. For good fruit set, plant at least two plants and harvest the fruit while still young. Grows compactly and without tendrils. Relatively hardy to powdery mildew, good regeneration ability in fall. Germination after 8-14 days at 20-22°C.
Non hybrid
Not frost resistant
At first forms only male flowers, which must necessarily remain on the plant. Only at higher temperatures and when the plant is stronger, female flowers are formed (you can see the ovary). Harden off before planting. Likes warm, wind-protected locations. Sensitive to frost. Several plants pollinate each other. Harvest regularly so that new fruits are formed continuously. Fertilize and water regularly. Follow crop rotation. Home-grown seeds are strongly discouraged for zucchini because the toxic bitter substance cucurbitacin can form. Mixed cultivation with borage promotes pollination. Pumpkins and zucchinis of the same species can interbreed, zucchini can become bitter and inedible or poisonous (due to so-called curcurbitacins).
