Long, green, striped fruits. Medium-late fruit set. Especially for hobby cultivation. Undemanding. Proven. Not climbing. Also suitable for containers. Germination after 7-14 days at 18-22°C.
Non hybrid
Not frost resistant
Harden off before planting. Protect from slugs when direct sowing. Likes warm, wind-protected locations. Sensitive to frost. Several plants can pollinate each other. Harvest regularly so new fruit will form continuously. Fertilize and water regularly. Follow crop rotation. Home-grown seeds are strongly discouraged for zucchini because the toxic bitter substance cucurbitacin can form. Mixed cultivation with borage promotes pollination. Pumpkins and zucchinis of the same species can interbreed, zucchini can become bitter and inedible or poisonous (due to so-called curcurbitacins). Discard bitter tasting fruits completely.
