In Italian, "zuccu" means pumpkin - zucchinis are therefore small pumpkins. The Italians were already eating them in the 17th century. However, the original home of the zucchini is in Central America. The Blu balcony zucchini forms green, elongated fruits and grows very compactly. Zucchinis are picked when they are 15 to 20 cm long because they are then particularly tasty. The flowers are also edible.
F1 Hybrid
Not frost resistant
Zucchinis need lots of nutrients and water to produce sufficiently large and tasty fruit. You should therefore plant them in a large container (capacity approx. 30 liters) with humus-rich soil and place it in a sunny spot. Drainage holes in the bottom of the container are important to prevent waterlogging. You can then harvest zucchinis from August to October.
