Older variety from the Lake Geneva region. Green, club-shaped fruits. In contrast to most other courgette varieties, the leaves are whole-edged. High heat and nutrient requirements. Robust variety and high-yielding until fall. Delicate fruit with a mild flavor.
Non hybrid
Not frost resistant
Cultivation of 3 seeds each in a pot in April. Only the strongest plant is kept. Plant out only after the last frost in May in a nutrient-rich location. Keep sufficiently moist. Direct sowing in May is also possible. Likes warm, sheltered locations. Sensitive to frost. Several plants can pollinate each other. Harvest regularly so that new fruits continue to form. Fertilize and water regularly. Observe crop rotation. Home-grown zucchini seeds are strongly discouraged because they can produce the toxic bitter substance cucurbitacin. Pumpkins and zucchinis of the same species can cross-pollinate, making zucchinis bitter and inedible or poisonous (due to curcurbitacin).
