This delicate, light green, shiny courgette is selected for magical oriental dishes: Beautiful to look at, exciting to bite into, unsurpassed in taste. It is harvested small (approx. 8-12 cm), but larger for stuffed courgettes (up to 25 cm), but still light green in color! The variety for the family garden or the freshest weekly market. (Zollinger)
Non hybrid
Not frost resistant
Sow from mid-April in a warm place. 1 seed per pot of 10. Plant out from May 20 at the bottom of the compost heap or in nutrient-rich soil. (Watch out for snails!) Frost-free cultivation necessary. Spacing approx. 80x100 cm. Mulch cover is an advantage. Several plants can pollinate each other. Harvest regularly so that new fruits are continuously formed. Fertilize and water regularly. Observe crop rotation. Home-grown zucchini seeds are strongly discouraged because they can produce the toxic bitter substance cucurbitacin. Mixed cultivation with borage promotes pollination. Pumpkins and zucchinis of the same species can cross-pollinate, making zucchinis bitter and inedible or poisonous (due to so-called curcurbitacins).
