The plum 'The Czar' sweetens the fall with delicious fruits. The dark blue plums impress with their sweet aroma and subtle spiciness. The yellow flesh is juicy and medium firm. As dessert fruit, the small to medium-sized plums of (bot.) Prunus 'The Czar' are ideal for eating fresh. They are also ideal for baking and can be made into heavenly compotes and purees. They are popular in the kitchen as they are easy to peel and the tough skin comes off easily. Given the wide variety of delicacies that can be conjured up from the fruit, we are delighted that the yields of 'The Czar' plum are regular and very high!
Non hybrid
Frostproof
Prunus 'The Czar' plums are ready to pick and enjoy in August. This high-yielding variety is self-fertile and another plum tree in the garden is not absolutely necessary. In general, however, a suitable pollinator increases the yield. 'The Czar' plum is an easy-care plant and is considered by experts to be less susceptible to scharka. For good fruit quality, occasional thinning out is advisable, but not essential. A sunny to semi-shady location and sufficiently moist loamy soil provide the best conditions for 'The Czar' plum to thrive. Here, the tree grows to a height of around 250 to 450 cm and reaches a diameter of around 200 to 300 cm. The growth habit of this variety is bushy.
