There are many different species, most of which are perennial and bushy. The flowers can be admired from May to September and can come back a second time after the first flowering by pruning. The color is mostly in shades of purple, but there are also other colors. They can grow from 20cm to even 1.5m high. They usually contain essential oils.
Pruning the flowers is important and it is also grateful for watering. It can be used as a border and with other herbs. The leaves can be used as a tea. Cats love them. Bee pasture.
