Fast growing, very long Bulgarian Giant type leek. Shoots in very beautiful, slender, up to 60 cm long, white shafts with light green leaves. Very good, mild leek flavor. For summer and fall harvest. Sow from January to May for harvest from July to November. Development period 150-170 days. Tolerates only light frosts to -7°. (From pure seed).
Non hybrid
Frostproof
Keep the soil evenly moist. When planting out, insert about 10 cm deep into the soil. Harden off beforehand if necessary. The white shafts become longer by mounding. Fertilize in August for the last time, otherwise winter hardiness will suffer. In case of bare frost and very cold weather, cover the beds with fleece. Good for soil health by loosening the soil from the leek roots. Observe cultivation break (about 3-4 years).
