The 'Red-flowering' runner bean produces aromatic legumes that can be harvested as early as August.
Non hybrid
Not frost resistant
The seeds can be dried and stored well. Can also be grown on the balcony. Fire beans can be grown in advance, but can also be planted directly outdoors. Pre-planting is useful for an earlier harvest and to protect the plant from snails. Germination takes place after approx. 7-14 days at 15-20°C. A climbing support is required and they can be sown like runner beans. Can also be used as a privacy screen. Can be sown until July for a continuous harvest.
