Old green asparagus variety; cultivated since the 17th century; here as an F1 hybrid variety; ready to harvest medium-early between May and June; fast-growing; attractive green harvest spears with tightly closed heads with reddish tips; hearty taste; can also be grown as white asparagus. Mixed flowering. Harvest the following year when sown.
F1 Hybrid
Not frost resistant
Germination in 14-21 days at 18-21°C. Plant out after the last frost. However, the rhizomes tolerate frost and can therefore be overwintered. A light harvest can be achieved in August of the first year of planting (ripening time 45-52 weeks), in subsequent years the main harvest is in May-June. Regular weeding is important.
