Whether sunny or partial shade - lemon balm likes to grow perennial. After a few years, however, you should let it seed itself, because then it likes to "wander" to another place in your garden. Use its lemony aromatic leaves for teas or salads.
Non hybrid
Frostproof
Lemon balm requires well-drained, moist soil. Lemon balm can be cut back in June before flowering. Be sure to harvest lemon balm leaves before they bloom, because their smell and taste are greatly affected during the blooming period. Lemon balm is particularly hardy and winter hardy and will resprout in the spring.
