Vietnamese lemon balm is an upright herb that grows to a height of around 60 cm. The leaves are long, stalked and toothed and reach a length of 2 to 8.5 cm and a width of 8 to 2.5 cm. Their shape is ovate to lanceolate, with a glandular underside. It flowers purple in flat spikes in September and October. The leaves, with their warm, slightly minty-mild flavor, can be used in many dishes.
