Teddy Bear is a very special form of sunflower. Compared to its "siblings", it is one of the smaller varieties with a maximum growth height of 50cm - but this also brings many advantages! It is an ideal variety for beds and planters, and can therefore also be planted well on the balcony. Teddy Bear is also ideal for concealing bare spots in the garden or for beautifying borders and flowering hedges. Teddy bear forms golden yellow, densely double fuzzy heads. The flowers contain abundant nectar and pollen for bees and butterflies.
Non hybrid
Frostproof
Sunflowers germinate best at 20 to 24 °C. After the cotyledons appear, they should continue to be cultivated at cooler temperatures of 15 to 20 °C. Temperatures below 12 °C lead to growth inhibition and deficiency symptoms. From the beginning of April, 2 seeds each can be sown directly into a flower pot with a permeable substrate for pre-cultivation. After emergence, only the strongest seedling is left in the pot. Uniform watering and fertilizing promote rapid growth. Sowing in the open is possible from mid-May. Pre-grown plants can be put outdoors after the last frosts.
