The Mediterranean mandarin, also known as Citrus deliciosa or C. reticulata, is a small, fragrant and vigorous citrus tree. It produces round, slightly flattened mandarins with sweet, juicy and tasty flesh. The first frosts give them their beautiful orange color. They are harvested from November to January to ripen. The mandarin tree originates from China. Its fruit, the mandarin, was offered to the Mandarin Emperor, hence its name.
