Growing tips

Green manure plants are a prerequisite for keeping the soil healthy in a natural garden. The soil should never be left uncovered. In addition to mulching with cut organic matter, green manures provide a way to keep the soil fertile. Leaf and root mass provide valuable structural improvement. Plant growth shades the soil and protects it from evaporation, and beneficial soil organisms multiply and provide favorable, natural humus formation. During heavy downpours, the soil is protected from erosion, nutrient leaching into the subsoil is prevented and the undesirable accompanying weeds (weeds) cannot grow.
