The F1 hybrid potted butternut squash Butterbush (improved) has a very compact growth habit and therefore thrives excellently in large containers (min. 30 cm diameter) and on raised beds. The Butterbush variety reliably bears sweet, aromatic fruits weighing approx. 1-1.3 kg (measuring 8 x 15 cm) with a nutty aroma. The flesh is yellow to orange, the fruits are initially green when ripe, then beige-brown. The development time from sowing to harvest is approx. 100 days.
F1 Hybrid
Not frost resistant
Optimal germination temperature at a constant 16 - 22°C. The germination period is approx. 6 - 12 days. In raised beds, the soil should be enriched with well-rotted manure and compost. In containers, pumpkins must be fertilized regularly as they are heavy feeders. They are heat-loving and react to temperatures below 15 degrees. Protect young plants with foil. Harvest before the frost. For better fertilization, place several plants of the same variety next to each other.
