This small pumpkin is around 20 cm in size and has a deep orange, fine flesh. The taste is sweet with a chestnut aroma. The seeds are compactly packed together, resulting in a high proportion of flesh. The green skin softens when cooked or roasted, but does not cook completely; coarse peeling is recommended. Well suited for soups or as oven vegetables.
Non hybrid
Not frost resistant
Requires about 1 m² of space. We recommend the pre-cultivation of seedlings. Pre-cultivation in pots from the end of April, do not prick out. Direct sowing is possible from mid-May. Germination temperature: 15-20 degrees Germination time: 10-12 days Care: Add compost before planting, loosen soil until leaves are fully developed, mulching recommended Location: requires warmth, well supplied garden soil Harvest: October, 3-6 pumpkins per plant, can be stored at 10-15 degrees until December An even supply of water and nutrients is important for healthy growth and abundant fruiting. In the event of drought or a lack of fertilization, the small pumpkins will partially die. At temperatures below 5°C, you should cover the entire plant with fleece. The fleece should be removed as soon as flowers form. Place a small wooden board, a flat stone or straw under the fruit to prevent the fruit from rotting on wet soil. You can harvest as soon as the pumpkin sounds hollow when you "tap" it. To harvest, cut the pumpkin at the stem, but leave part of the stem attached to the fruit. Otherwise the pumpkins will rot quickly and cannot be stored for as long.
