Red Kuri type Hokkaido pumpkin with sweet and nutty flavor, the classic for pumpkin soups, but also excellent for baking and frying. The fruits are 0.5 to 2 kg. (Flail)
Non hybrid
Not frost resistant
Pre-growing from April, direct sowing and planting from mid-May (after the last frosts). Dark germination: about 2 cm deep. Germination at 16-22°C in 6-12 days, soil temperatures of at least 12°C. Sunny location. High sensitivity to (waterlogging) wetness and cold. Pumpkin needs a lot of water. You should water directly at the root and not from above on the leaves. You should provide the pumpkin very well with fertilizer, because it is a heavy feeder. In the growing season, fertilize twice with compost or organic fertilizer. Otherwise, the pumpkin is rather undemanding in care. Harvest when the pumpkin sounds hollow or the stem has dried.
