Growing tips

Rice beans have proven themselves as part of the "Three Sisters". This involves planting pre-grown corn plants and pumpkin plants in alternating rows and planting 3-4 bean seeds in the soil around each corn plant. Result: The corn serves as a support for the beans (does not become too heavy), the beans improve the soil for the corn and the pumpkin leaves shade the soil. Mulch thickly with grass clippings and you have no more work all summer! Further cultivation tips for the type of runner bean.
