Description

Who can resist the beautiful large, double flowers of the Fuchsia Frau Hilde Rademacher? The tube and sepals are a rich red, while the crown is an eye-catching lilac-purple with cherry red. With a bushy, upright growth habit, but also loose and trailing, it can therefore be suitable for hanging baskets. This colorful variety reaches a height of 24 - 30" (60 - 75 cm). Bred by H. Rademacher, Mülheim-Ruhr, Germany in 1925, the parents are Henriette Ernst and garden inspector Monkemeyer. - Plant out from the end of May throughout the summer. - Can be established after one year. - Best suited to full sun, but planted directly in the garden the following year. - Garden planting in late summer should be avoided as it can be difficult, plants may not have time to establish before winter. - If the plants can be grown in containers, they should be grafted outside if they are not classified as fully hardy, as container-grown plants offer the full root protection that soil-grown plants do.
